Although this appears to have a frame, it is in fact a ‘painted’ frame, part of the painting on the canvas.
Like all of my other paintings (apart from a few experiments) this was painted entirely without the use of masking tape to create the straight edges - just a steady hand and a lot of practice. Personally, I prefer the flatter surface that this gives me in the finished painting. I know other people like how masking tape can affect the painting texture - but this is what works for me!
This is painted on a custom stretched canvas, with an Ash frame.
