Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are all the artworks on your website originals?
They certainly are - 100% my own original work, each one is unique. Each piece comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and the artwork itself is signed too. If I ever produce limited edition items these will be clearly numbered and marked as editions, and will come with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
2. Are the colours exactly as they appear on my screen?
I've tried to make sure the colours in the photos are as close as possible to the original artwork, however your monitor may affect how the image looks on your screen. If you are in any doubt please request extra photos, or if you are in Wellington come and view the artwork in person. Email me to arrange a good time.
3. How can I buy your work?
You can buy directly from one of the galleries that stock my work, or by contacting me direct. I try to keep my website up to date when a painting is at a particular gallery, but it’s usually best to check with me in case I have not had time to update the information. The price buying from me will be the same as the price in a gallery, unless I am having a studio sale.
4. What currency are your prices in?
All my prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZ$). As a guide, the NZ$ is weaker than the Australian, and a lot weaker than the US$, the British Pound and the Euro.
I accept payment via Paypal, so you can pay from any country easily. There will obviously be a variable currency conversion charge that your bank or card provider will charge you.
5. What if I don't like it when it arrives? Can I return it?
You sure can! I offer a unique 7-Day return policy (for NZ customers only) because I understand that artwork can look different in person and also in your own personal space, and buying art online can feel a bit risky. I will refund no questions asked. You need to advise me by email first and cover the cost of return postage, using the original packaging. The artwork must be returned in as-new condition. Any original shipping costs are non-refundable.
6. What is your shipping policy?
Actual shipping rates depend on all sorts of things - whether you want courier or standard post, whether you want to pay for insurance, if your address is urban or rural (and of course what country you are in!) . . . I am very happy to get a price for shipping if you give me all the details, and then you can decide whether or not you want to go ahead and purchase. You will need to add the shipping price to the price of the artwork.
Please see below regarding international shipping costs.
If the artwork is damaged on arrival please contact me immediately (no later than the following day) at email@example.com.
7. Can I pick up my artwork?
Yes. Pick up is available in Wellington.
8. Do you ship internationally?
Please contact me directly regarding international sales. I use PayPal for international transactions and will ship anywhere in the world. I will email you with packing and shipping costs, which will be added to the cost of the work if you decide to proceed.
9. How can I see the product before I buy it?
If you are in Wellington you’re welcome to visit my studio, otherwise we can arrange an online meet up through FaceTime where I can tell you more about the artwork and show it to you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a date and time.
10. What Payment Methods Do You Accept?
I accept the following payment methods:
NZ Bank deposit
11. I've got a discount / Promo code - how do I use it?
Easy - just email me and quote the code along with the name of the artwork you want to purchase.
12. GST (Goods and services tax)
GST is included in the price when applicable.
13. Customs Charges
The buyer is responsible for paying international customs fees, determined by the country the artwork is being shipped to. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.
14. Do you do commission work?
Yes! I would love to create an original piece of work for your home, office, or design project. Together we can come up with a plan: style, colors, size, even framing. If you are interested in discussing this process, please contact me and we can chat. I understand that it is a big decision to trust someone to create something for you, so you need to feel comfortable with the process before you go ahead.
15. Do you licence any of your work?
Please contact me if you are interested in licensing anything you see here, or working together on a licensed artwork.
