The name of this painting is a little ambiguous - deliberately! The original idea for it came from gazing closely into the eye of a family member, but the resulting artwork is so far removed from the original inspiration that I really don’t think anyone would ever pick it. . . . but I know where it came from so it has a significance to me.

Once again I’m playing with shadows and perception of form and space, so depending how you look at it you might interpret it in different ways.

I really enjoyed playing with the gradients and repeating stripes on this one, it’s the first time I’ve overlayed one over the other and I like the resulting effect. This might be the beginning of a new series, I’m not quite sure yet.
